Terms & Conditions
The legal framework governing educational code reuse under the MIT License, literary copyright for published Kindle books, browser-based runtime sandboxes, and affiliate disclosures across The Long Compile.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing, browsing, reading, or executing code examples on The Long Compile (accessible via our custom domain and associated Cloudflare edge network endpoints), you enter into a legally binding agreement and agree to comply with these Terms and Conditions and our Privacy Policy.
If you disagree with any segment of these terms, you must immediately discontinue using the site and its interactive educational components.
2. Open Source MIT Code Licensing
Unless explicitly stated otherwise, all software code snippets, low-level C memory visualization demonstrations, Python algorithmic scripts, and interactive visualizer modules published directly within our tutorial series are distributed under the terms of the MIT License.
Permission is hereby granted, free of charge, to any person obtaining a copy of this software and associated documentation files, to deal in the Software without restriction, including without limitation the rights to use, copy, modify, merge, publish, distribute, sublicense, and/or sell copies of the Software.
The only requirement is that our copyright notice and permission notice remain included in all copies or substantial portions of the software.
3. Books & Literary Copyright (All Rights Reserved)
While educational tutorial code is open source under MIT, all literary and narrative content remains strictly proprietary. This includes:
- The full manuscripts, sample reader excerpts, and cover artwork for published books (including Rewire Your Thinking and Echoes of the Heart).
- Personal essays, builder chronicles, and reflection logs published in The Compilation Within.
- Original diagrams, typography compositions, editorial layouts, and site branding assets.
You may quote brief excerpts in scholarly reviews or technical discussions with proper attribution and a direct link. Automated bulk scraping, unauthorized PDF distribution, wholesale syndication, or feeding these written works into proprietary training corpora without written authorization is strictly prohibited.
4. Advertising & Affiliate Terms
To keep tutorials and system engineering articles publicly accessible without paywalls, The Long Compile participates in authorized publisher programs:
We host programmatic display advertisements provided by Google AdSense and third-party ad networks. We do not personally endorse the third-party products or services featured in dynamic ad units.
As an Amazon Associate, the author earns from qualifying purchases made via outbound Kindle and paperback edition links. These links do not increase the price you pay.
5. In-Browser Code Sandboxes & Simulators
Our tutorials feature interactive code runners, memory address visualizers, and data structure simulators. These engines run entirely on the client side via browser memory, JavaScript workers, or isolated WebAssembly runtimes.
While designed for safe educational experimentation, you execute code at your own discretion. The Long Compile assumes no responsibility for browser memory exhaustion, local tab crashes, or unexpected execution outcomes resulting from user-modified loops or recursive scripts.
6. Disclaimer of Warranties & Limitation of Liability
Provided “As-Is” Without Warranty
All articles, architectural guides, code snippets, and author essays are provided strictly for educational and informational purposes on an “as-is” and “as-available” basis.
Under no circumstances shall The Long Compile or its author be held liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages (including, without limitation, loss of data, machine downtime, software errors, or financial losses) arising out of your implementation or reliance upon the architectural patterns or code published here.
7. Modifications & Governing Law
We reserve the right to revise or update these terms at our sole discretion to reflect new features, changing affiliate requirements, or legal compliance updates. Any revisions will be published on this page with an updated timestamp.
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without giving effect to any principles of conflicts of law.
